Chunk fuel peat is produced from transitional bog peat with a decomposition degree not less than 25%. This solid fuel is easily ignited and can be burned in solid fuel boilers, fireplaces, etc. It is also one of the cheapest heating fuels in Lithuania. The elemental composition of this peat is mainly carbon (up to 65%) and oxygen (up to 30%). The fuel is shaped into chunks of various dimensions (e.g. 300x130x110 mm) and may contain fine particles of up to 10%. The chunk fuel is extracted from the Baloša peatland.
